From La Roque-Gageac, drive along the Dordogne early in the morning before the pedestrians and turn left at the campsite to avoid the main road with a lot of traffic from cars and trucks.

A detour off the road at dawn in the middle of summer that turned out to be a very good choice. The fun part is between La Roque Gageac and the campsite along this route. I recommend taking the smaller roads near the campsite to avoid the main road crossing the Dordogne by the bridge, which can get busy after 8 a.m.

I love walking through old railway tunnels and this one is particularly pleasant: a guaranteed refreshing moment! A beautiful structure that is well worth the detour!
