Built in 1899, the Cortalets refuge is one of the oldest in the Pyrenees. It is located on the GR 10 and HRP (Haute Route Pyrénéenne) trails at the foot of Canigou at an altitude of 2,150 meters. During guarding periods, the refuge has 105 beds compared to 19 outside guarding.
