With inviting green spaces and seating areas, the Rose Garden offers numerous beautiful opportunities for relaxation. The Rose Garden is one of the smaller parks in the area.

Very interesting, a must-visit.

At the entrance to the Liether Kalkgrube geotope, which is well worth seeing, there is a well-documented collection of around 30 boulders. The origin and type of rock of the glacial debris are explained on two information boards. The stones collected here were found during clearing work in the Elbe shipping lane and during gravel and chalk mining in southern Holstein. They come from Saale-era deposits. Their origin - as far as can be determined - lies mainly in the southeastern Swedish region, particularly in Småland.

From 1869 to 1908, the brickworks was owned by the Möller family. The industrialization of Schleswig-Holstein with large factory buildings and the construction of numerous Prussian administrative buildings led to a great demand for bricks. In Elmshorn, numerous buildings were built with bricks from Lieth, e.g. the tower of St. Nikolai Church (1881), the Assmussen malt factory, the riding and driving school (1894), today's Bismarck School (1895), the water tower (1902).

The Liether Kalkgrube is located in the Pinneberg district, east of the town of Klein Nordende. It is a former opencast mine that was closed in 1986. The area was designated as a nature reserve in 1991 and designated a “National Geotope” in 2006. (Source: Wikipedia)
