2つの湿地帯の入り江があり、そこは岸辺を探索する様々な渉禽類の集合場所となっています。渡りの時期には、ここが賑わいます。

全長228キロメートルで、マルヌ川とソーヌ川の谷を結び、フランス北西部とベルギーを地中海に結ぶ内陸水路の一部となっています。

This medieval castle was extensively remodeled in the 16th century in the Renaissance style and has been undergoing restoration for about twenty years. The moats still remain on two of the four sides, the latter being delimited by round towers where the cannon openings can still be seen. The castle boasts rich Renaissance decorations, both exterior and interior. These are sculpted (Burgundian cabbages, columns with Corinthian capitals, friezes, gargoyles, draperies, etc.) or painted (puttis, animals, or floral motifs on the ceilings). There is even a spiral staircase. The gardens, with a French-style section, an English-style section, and a conservatory orchard, are also charming. The castle can be visited throughout the spring and summer.

A beautiful local recreation area for hiking, swimming, and other recreational activities. The path around the lake is more suitable for hiking than cycling. We still managed it, though.

The Church of Saint Maurice was built between 1834 and 1839 according to plans by the Dijon architect Fénéon-Damotte. It follows the traditions of neoclassical churches built in the first half of the 19th century. A façade bell tower is preceded by a peristyle with a pediment supported by four Doric columns. The church has the unique feature of being built on submerged oak trees, as it is actually located in the old branch of the Saône, which was diverted.

This vast expanse of water of 290 ha allows the practice of many activities. If you have a sporty soul, a 16 km route even allows you to go around it on foot or by mountain bike.

Small village that receives both the Via Francigena 40 (on foot) and the Via Francigena 62-61 (by bike).

Frânois is a charming village in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. It is close to Besançon and has a rich history and a peaceful, rural atmosphere. The Saint-Remy church has a beautiful bell tower.
