The Planteurhaus adorned the large landscape park in the "Walbecker Garden Realm" as the entrance temple. The architect of this neoclassical villa implemented his good knowledge of the style of the great master builder Andrea Palladio. This villa was commissioned by Freiherr Wilhelm Christian von dem Bussche as a home for a planter (tree nurseryman). Industry and technology of the time were brought into harmony with this building! The drawing shows it! This villa was created around 1802 with materials such as field stones and slag from the smelting and shows the high level of architecture at that time. The carpenters and masons knew how to cast caps with cinder blocks & plaster, which can still be seen and visited today. Something very special, every beam is hand-hewn. The cellar vaults were also cast with plaster and cinder blocks. Walbeck has a gem with it! In addition to the planter's house, the mill, the forester's house and the mausoleum also belong to the former Walbeck castle complex!
