This serious road offers a great reward to those who take it. You will be amazed by the splendid panorama of the vineyards. If you visit it in autumn, you will be dazzled by the colors of the leaves turning orange and red.

Two rivers cross the pretty town of Bar-sur-Aube. These are the Aube river which gives its name to the department and the Bresse. Numerous Champagne vineyard hillsides surround it, which makes it a renowned place for the production of champagne.

The old town center of Bar-sur-Aube is a historical and cultural heritage that testifies to the rich medieval period of the city. Bar-sur-Aube was one of six places that hosted the Champagne annual fairs, which attracted traders from all over Europe. A climb with with coarse gravel, especially near the top. The steepest part of the climb consists of a concrete road. I did the climb with 32mm tyres and I had to walk parts of the climb due the coarse gravel. So I only would recommend it when you are on a mountainbike or gravelbike with wide tyres. You can skip the coarsest gravel at the top by riding through the grass of the left vineyard.
