Saint Anne is the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the grandmother of Jesus Christ—not attested in the biblical texts. She is mentioned, however, in apocryphal (i.e., not included in the canon of the Bible) writings, for example, in the so-called "Protoevangelium of James." There is no historically verified information about Anne's life, but numerous traditional stories exist, summarized, for example, in the medieval "Legenda Aurea" by the Dominican monk Jacobus de Voragine. Among other things, she is the patron saint of St. Anne's Church in Düren (North Rhine-Westphalia), where a piece of her skullcap is kept as a relic. In the church calendar, Saint Anne's feast day—together with her husband Joachim—is July 26th.

The St. Anna Chapel was built in 1985, with a building length of 9.93 m, a width of 5.70 m, a ridge height of 6.00 m; the tower has a height of 8.00 m. A bronze relief shows the image of "Anna-Selbdritt", i.e. an image of St. Anna, her daughter Mary and the baby Jesus. The image was designed by the sculptor Karl-Heinz Deutsch.

The St. Anna Chapel was built in 1985 with a building length of 9.93 m, a width of 5.70 m, a ridge height of 6.00 m; the tower has a height of 8.00 m. The St. Anna Chapel is located on the Erlenbach between Rheinzabern and Neupotz. The construction of the chapel was originally a donation from Mrs. Maria Anna Avril in 1858. In 1957 the old chapel was demolished because it was in disrepair. It was rebuilt in 1985. A bronze relief shows the picture of the "Anna-Selbdritt", i.e. a picture of St. Anna, her daughter Maria and the baby Jesus.
