Lahnradwegは素晴らしく整備されており、（ほとんどの場合）標識も良好です。実際には地図は必要ありません。ただし、ラーン川の特定の区間は湿地帯または峡谷のようになっており、サイクリングロードには非常に厳しい登りがいくつかあることを過小評価してはいけません。ライン川沿いとは異なります。

The lock in Diez on the Lahn was built in the 19th century to make the river navigable and enable the transport of goods between Limburg and Koblenz. It played a pivotal role in the region's economy, as it made obstacles such as waterfalls and rapids surmountable. Today, the lock is primarily used for recreational purposes: canoeists, kayakers, and Lahn paddlers use it to travel safely from one section of the river to the next, while pleasure boats and small recreational vehicles can pass through in a controlled manner. At the same time, the lock reduces the river's speed at critical points, increasing safety, and partially supports power generation by hydroelectric power plants along the Lahn. Technically, it ensures that differences in elevation between river sections are equalized, creating a more even water level and making paddling easier. The lock thus combines historical significance with recreational use.
