The view is overgrown; the two rest benches are quite old; a sign on the tree points to a barefoot path that apparently (steps next to the rest benches indicate) once existed here.

The way from the prot. Church up to the castle ruins is NOT so extremely steep and also offers nicer views (up to the castle ruins)!

“The Ritterstein marks the Biedenbacher Woog, one of a total of 5 woogen of the Leinbach. The inscription of the Ritterstein can be found on the weir. [...] A hermitage is also known as a woog in the Palatinate. It is an artificially created reservoir with brick dams and outflow openings.
