Saint-Maclou Church

A small village to absolutely discover

Located along the banks of the Andelle River, the Levavasseur spinning mill, nicknamed the "industrial cathedral," is a 19th-century factory in the neo-Gothic style. It is the subject of a conservation project to reveal its unique history and offer the public a place for walking, contemplation, and interpretation.

Beautiful waterfront promenade. A bit too many walkers for driving.

Well-developed cycle path directly along the Seine.

It is one of the most famous Gothic church buildings in the world, thanks to Claude Monet, and can be seen in several of his paintings. It was destroyed by the Vikings in 841 and by Allied bombs in 1944. It has been rebuilt time and again, undergoing 700 years of architectural development. Its west façade is particularly worth seeing. By the way: its church tower is the highest in France.
