Tip: A short detour is worthwhile – especially for nature lovers and photographers looking for special motifs.

A narrow, rooted path winds its way directly along the former border – a quiet, almost mystical section of the Preußensteig Trail. Light breaks through the dense canopy of leaves, while the old border marker on the tree silently tells of the past. 💡 Tip: If you look closely, you'll still discover traces of old border markers along the path – perfect for little discoveries along the way.

📍 Preußensteig Trail near Kusel Quiet, soft, and green: Here, the path leads along a narrow trail through dense, vibrant forest. The ground is springy, the light flickers through the leaves, and the sounds fade. One of those sections where you're completely in the moment. 💡 Tip: Just slow down and enjoy – it's pleasantly cool here, especially on warm days. If you start early, you'll often hear only the chirping of birds and your own footsteps.

Restaurant, youth hostel, view and condition of the castle are simply top notch! For racing cyclists: very good road surface and the descent is just fun.
