The chapel was built on the private initiative of Wolfgang Walther and Erich Zimmermann. During a holiday together in Tyrol, they discovered the local tradition of building mountain chapels outside the village. They searched and soon found a suitable plot of around 1,900 square meters. They built their chapel on their own every week and were able to complete a 5.35 mx 3.25 m chapel after about a year. The chapel offers space for 12 people.
