The Notre-Dame de Mouzon Abbey is the historic church of Mouzon Abbey. The two buildings are located close to each other. Built in the 12th and 13th centuries, the abbey church is ahead of its time, as it shows the beginnings of the Gothic style of the immense cathedrals of northern France.

Nestled on the Meuse in the heart of the Ardennes, the town of Mouzon was the seat of a former Benedictine abbey founded in 971 by Adalbéron, Bishop of Reims. From this monastic past, a Gothic abbey church from the 13th century dedicated to Our Lady, a beautifully decorated portal, as well as the monastery buildings from the 17th century, which now house a retirement home, have been preserved. You can take a lovely walk through the well-maintained gardens, with their lawns and flowerbeds. For lovers of real estate, there is the Burgundy tower portal, a remnant of the city's former fortifications, from which you also have a beautiful view over the roofs of the city and the surrounding area!
