The Saint Germain de Vault church was built at the beginning of the 16th century to replace a Romanesque building. It goes from a flamboyant Gothic style for its oldest part, the east, to the Renaissance style for the western part. Inside you will find beautiful ancient frescoes of the life of Jesus and magnificent glazing above the altar.

During the ascent towards Vézelay, shortly before reaching the place of pilgrimage, you have this beautiful view up to Sainte Marie-Madeleine.

If you come from the brewery, near which there are also hiking parking lots, you will pass this beautiful embankment on the Cure shortly before the village. From here you have a beautiful view of the opposite bank with the church and the historic stone bridge crossing the river. A very nice photo opportunity.

If you walk up the promenade in Vezelay to the basilica, you will inevitably pass this house where the French Nobel Prize winner Romain Holland lived. Alternating art exhibitions are held here today.

From the church in Saint-Père, a beautiful ascent path, part of the Way of St. James, leads up to Vezelay. About halfway you reach this vantage point, which offers a wonderful view of Vezelay with its basilica enthroned on the hill.
