Beautiful floodplain landscape of the Niese! Simply to enjoy. ☺️

Several fords help you pass the Tengelbecke.

The Tengelbecke meanders beautifully through the Papenhöfener Schweiz. There are several fords.

The sign invites you to drink from the Renneborn. It looks inviting, but I'm not entirely sure about that. 🙄

The Kollerbach babbles merrily through the village and later flows into the Niese. It flows partly through park-like gardens.

The church history of Kollerbeck was very varied. In earlier centuries, a parish and a priest were mentioned at times, but not consistently. In 1861, the current church of St. John the Baptist with its characteristic, slender and pointed tower roof was built. In 1899, Kollerbeck was raised to a parish again, which lasted until 2016. Since 2017, all places in the town of Marienmünster have belonged to the parish of St. James the Elder, whose parish church is the former Benedictine abbey church of Marienmünster.

The war memorial in Kollerbeck with the large crucifix was initially erected for the dead of the First World War, as the central panels show. It was later supplemented for the dead of the Second World War.

From here you have a good view of the Benedictine Abbey of Marienmünster. It is now a Catholic parish church. If you would like to see it from the inside, you can come to the service on Sundays or visit the church from Tuesday to Sunday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., when it is usually open.
