Wadköping is an open-air museum in the Swedish city of Örebro. It preserves the city's architectural heritage, the oldest of which dates back to the 15th or 16th century. The museum opened in 1965 to commemorate Örebro's 700th anniversary. It was named after the fictional city of Wadköping, based on Örebro, in the work of author Hjalmar Bergman. For a city trail, it's quite nice in parts, but nothing more. A few built-in mini-features (see photos), otherwise it's a tricky, rooty horizontal path. High uphill portion, so good for the pump. The black trail isn't particularly tricky technically either (in alpine biking areas, it's rated red at best). The entire route can be viewed on Trailforks. These trails are an example of how the more technically demanding variants of MTB sport in southern Sweden seem to lead a niche existence - at least in terms of official routes.
