At the top of the Monchique mountain range rises Foia, the highest point in the Algarve, at 902 meters altitude. Its antennas mark the summit where the sky seems closest and, on clear days, the view reaches the Atlantic. Up here, the wind blows freely and the view is simply unforgettable.

The summit is worth it - unfortunately, the biker on the pedestal is no longer there.

The church in Ferragudo, called the Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Conceição, is located at the top of the village overlooking the Arade River. It was built in the 16th century and restored after the 1755 earthquake. Inside, you'll find a Baroque altar, religious art, and votive offerings from fishermen seeking protection at sea.

The Silves City Gate (Porta da Cidade) is one of the old gateways to the walled medieval city. It was part of the original city defenses and is located near the historic center and the castle. Although only a portion of the gate remains, it offers a good overview of the former city walls and Silves' strategic location as the former Moorish capital of the Algarve. It's an atmospheric place to experience the city's rich history.

The Farol de Alfanzina is a lighthouse on the southern coast of Portugal, near the village of Carvoeiro in the Algarve. The lighthouse, commissioned in 1920, helps ships navigate safely along the rocky coast. It is 23 meters tall and has a beam range of approximately 29 nautical miles. The lighthouse is popular with tourists and is located along the scenic Sete Vales Suspensos hiking trail.

Silves Castle is an impressive medieval fortress in the Algarve, Portugal. It was originally built on an older settlement and later expanded by the Arabs between the 8th and 13th centuries. Thanks to its sturdy red sandstone walls and well-preserved structure, it is considered one of the best-preserved Moorish castles in Portugal. It has been designated a National Monument since 1910.
