Visp駅の西側で、Vispa川はローヌ川に合流します。ローヌ川はドイツ語圏のオーバーヴァリス地方では伝統的にRottenと呼ばれています。約8.5キロメートルのVispa川は、StaldenでMattertalから来るMattervispa川とSaasertalから来るSaaservispa川が合流して形成されます。 両方の支流は、ツェルマットとサースフェー周辺の氷河に覆われた高山地帯からの、乳白色のターコイズブルーの水を運んできます。Vispertalを短く流れた後、Vispa川は最終的に、はるかに幅の広いRotten川と合流します。 ここから水は、ローヌ川がフランスをさらに通過して地中海に流れ込む前に、ヴァレー州とレマン湖を通過してその旅を続けます。 この合流点は、美しい展望地点であると同時に、ツェルマット周辺の山岳地帯をハイキングした後、ヴァレー州に再び別れを告げるのに適した場所でもあります。ここでは、ヴァレーアルプスの水が、高山地帯をはるかに超えてどのように谷や風景を形作っているかが印象的にわかります。

Rosswald lies on a relatively narrow ridge at 1,800 meters, high above Brig. The paved road ends in the center of the village, around which many chalets nestle. Two restaurants (Parkplatz and Adler) directly in the village and two more just outside (Fleschboden and Bortelhütte) offer stunning views of the Rhone Valley and the Bernese Alps opposite, inviting visitors to stop for a break before or after their ascent. As early as the 1950s, this sun-drenched village was made accessible by cable car. The artificial lake just above Rosswald is a popular spot, used in winter for artificial snowmaking on the ski slopes and in summer as a rest area. Several official mountain bike routes also pass through Rosswald, such as the Valais Panorama Bike (Route 81) and the Rosswald Bike Route 780.

A visit is always worthwhile, not just in bad weather. Also very suitable for children.

A fantastic thermal spa with direct access from the adjacent campsite. It has something for everyone.

The FO Café on the red mile in Naters is the perfect place for a break during a bike tour. Here you can enjoy coffee specialties, wines and other drinks, accompanied by freshly prepared sandwiches, homemade desserts and regional Valais dishes. With an indoor and outdoor area, the café offers a relaxed atmosphere for every season. Open daily (closed on Tuesdays) from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
