Barrinha de Mira is a small village located on the coast of Portugal, part of the parish of Praia de Mira, municipality of Mira, district of Coimbra. The Barrinha da Praia de Mira is part of the Natura 2000 Network, protecting a fragile ecosystem rich in biodiversity. Along with the neighbouring lagoon, it forms a sensitive habitat where dragonflies and damselflies shine among the fresh waters. In addition to pedalo and boat rides, the place is ideal for kitesurfing, paddle boarding, rowing and fishing. Surrounded by vibrant nature, it is a paradise for hiking, photography and birdwatching.

Known as Palheiros de Mira due to the typical wooden huts of the fishermen, Praia de Mira was a fishing village until the mid-20th century. Its daily life is now portrayed in the ethnographic museum, housed in an old restored hut. Today, it is a popular destination, with fine white sands, imposing dunes and the strong waves of the Atlantic, perfect for surfing. Beyond the dunes, in the Mata Nacional, the scent of pine envelops Lagoa da Barrinha, a serene refuge where the calm waters invite you to sail, canoe and windsurf.

Very tasty cakes and donuts with filling, aromatic coffee and pleasant maintenance staff. Prices, as usual in such a cafe in Portugal, surprise and delight. Highly recommend. It is a little away from the center, but in the city center we did not find anything good for a snack.
