A beautiful dike-like cycle path through a strip of nature—you wouldn't expect this in the Flevopolder, where most cycle paths run straight ahead. You'll have to zigzag between cowpats, though.

Beautiful winding cycle paths through the nature reserve of the Great Bustard. Along the way, cows keep you company and you can count the windmills. Tip: the best thing is to have the wind in your back here, to meander along the paths.

Nice tea garden in a beautiful place, ideal to get off during your bike ride. You can sit outside in the garden, but also inside it is cozy and light. Nice stop for a cup of tea or something tasty.

If you love long, straight stretches where you can really push the pace, the Eemmeerdijk is a must-ride. A top piece of tarmac for dedicated cyclists who aren’t afraid of a bit of wind. It’s the perfect place to put your watts to the test – ideal for time trial training or when you just want to hammer away without distractions. The surface is smooth and well-paved, with few cracks or potholes, and generally not too busy.

I actually always drive on the other side of the highway and had now planned a route via this side. This turns out to be a very nice route, with much less traffic.
