Snaith Priory was a Benedictine priory in Snaith, within the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The priory was located at the Church of St Lawrence in Snaith, which has been a Grade I listed building since 1967.[1] It was founded shortly after 1101, and dissolved in 1539. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snaith_Priory

An amazing find here, I think it's an abandoned military training field with an abandoned plane and helicopter, vehicles and a load of bombs. Update: I went back there the next day and found out it used to be a paintball club, opened in 1988, closed during COVID.

An ancient market town that is still thriving today, dominated by its Priory Church which dates back to Anglo-Saxon times. An ideal place to grab a hot meal in any of its pubs and cafes, or visit the local brewery.

Nice way out of ferry bridge avoiding the most of the dual carriage way.

Beautiful spot to stop and have a drink and some food. Although be warned, it is a cash only establishment and does not accept card payments. Fortunately a very nice Dad and Daughter out for a motorbike ride were very kind and paid for a Latte.

Great place to stop with kids as there’s a nice little play park opposite.

Lovely tranquil spot for a little pleasant cuppa, cafe was closed this Monday but we had coffee with us, quite a few folk around so must be popular.

The Old Bridge is hidden away under a tangle of newer concrete flyovers, where the Great North Road crosses the River Aire. It’s traffic-free and provides a quieter route for cyclist and walkers to cross. The Old Bridge you see here was rebuilt as a result of a competition advertised in a local paper, the Leeds Mercury, in 1797. The winner was John Carr, a well respected architect from York. A surveyor named Bernard Hartley was engaged to build the design which was completed in 1804. By April 1803 the cost of the work was around £24,864, with £142 being spent on 'ale' for the workmen in one year alone!
