Gortin is a pleasant town situated in the heart of the Sperrins in County Tyrone. The town is nearby to a number of wonderful walks including Gortin Glen Forest Park, Mullaghcarn & Craignamaddy. There are also a few pubs in the town, such as Mossey's Bar and O'Neills.

Omagh is the county town of County Tyrone which plays host to a number of festivals and events throughout the year. A market town, there are plenty of places to stop to eat or drink and you can't fail to notice the twin spires of Sacred Heart Church.

The road passes between Oak Lough and New Lough and it is an absolute joy. With water either side of you, surrounded by hills, forests and heathland its what bike riding is made for.

Gortin Glen Forest Park is full of good trails and beautiful trees. There is a 5 mile scenic forest drive which is signposted and takes in all of the best views. With waterfalls, resident sika deer and a cafe at the centre of the park it makes an ideal detour from the road.

The Lover's Retreat is a beautiful spot, home to nesting herons. Some say it's name is taken from the lovers who used to hide within the branches of the weeping willow. There is also often a coffee van here which adds to its allure for cyclists pedaling through Omagh. It is also popular with dog walkers so be sure to keep an eye out for four legged friends.

As you pedal along the bike path tracing the Camowen River, keep an eye out for the water rushing over the weir.

The Ulster American Folk Park brings to life 300 years of emigration in an open air museum. Guides are on hand to make your visit even more memorable and there are frequent events and exhibitions.
