A spectacular place which sums up everything you might imagine about an English castle. It was built in the 12th century and was where Mary Tudor was proclaimed the Queen of England. It is in the care of English Heritage and you can wonder at the amazing views from the outside for free or pay to go inside. Historic part of the coastline with beautiful roads

Eye Vicarage is a fantastic building thought to date from the 1450's. It is built around a timber frame, with a Georgian southern facade and later re-modelled in the Victorian era.

If you walk through the main gate and keep going to the cliff you'll discover the last remaining grave from the friary Church that has long since gone.

A steep climb going up. you will need your lowest gear. you can also build up a lot of speed going down hill so be careful of the crossroads at the bottom.

Possibly the nicest stretch of the Sandling Way/Suffolk Coast Path

The remaining walls and gateway entrances of a medieval friary - its existence first threatened by coastal erosion, then by Henry VIII. Not a lot left but a few scenic ruins.

You can’t go into or around the castle with road bikes but you can go as far as the entrance with its impressive walls.
