The Gaimersheim market is at the gates of Ingolstadt; The place was first mentioned in a document in 908. The 67m high tower of the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary greets far into the surrounding area. The church, a neo-Gothic complex, was built by Mathias Berger between 1854 and 1861, including the basement of the tower from 1488. The completion of the rich interior decoration lasted until 1905.
