Much Wenlock is a stunningly beautiful medieval town. Walking about town is like going back in time with its great selection of traditional shops and all offering good old-fashioned one to one service. It is a quintessentially English town, a bit off the beaten track but well worth the visit.

Good road surface and a straight road, but it is really steep heading down into Bridges. Make sure to use plenty of brakes and take it easy.

Beautiful medieval town in the heart of Shropshire on the edge of the hills. Wenlock Priory (or St Milburga's Priory) is a highlight - a ruined 11th-century monastery in the middle of the town. Plenty of good cafes, pubs, shops etc to stock up and refuel before hitting the hills

Number 39 of Simon Warren's original top 100 climbs, The Burway is a must do in the Shropshire Hills. Nearly 2 miles long and avg 9%, you better have a good breakfast before taking this one on! But don' let the stats get you down, it's a stunning road with amazing panoramic views.

Bridgnorth Town Hall occupies a prominent position in the High Street where it has stood since the 17th century. Its location shows the importance of the building’s role in the civic and legal life of the town. The Town Hall is a listed building comprising an oak framed hall atop stone pillars. The hall was built on stilts to provide a covered market place for the town. Markets are still held beneath the hall every Friday and Saturday and twice a month on Sunday. The current interior comprises the Council Chamber, the Court Room and the Waiting Room. The largely 19th century interior is panelled throughout in oak and furnished partly with church benches and partly with custom made carved chairs. A local carpenter, Harry Perry, is believed to have carried out extensive work on the panelling and carvings as well as working as a journeyman on York Minster and the Russian Imperial palaces. The Town Hall’s crowning glory is her stained glass. Regarded as some of the finest work of the 19th century, the windows were installed to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee in 1887. They can only be appreciated from inside the building.

Really excellent little cafe. I checked that the sausages in the sausage bap were proper sausages - they certainly were. Got ribbed somewhat for my fancy London ways!
