The castle pond is located near the Eisenberg district of Zell, below the castle ruins of Hohenfreyberg and Eisenberg. This small reservoir is located within a landscape conservation area and is a great place to stop during a trip to the castle ruins. With its moorland, it is a charming refuge for a diverse range of flora and fauna.

The parish church of St. Moritz in Zell lies at the foot of the once mighty castles of Eisenberg and Hohenfreyberg. The history of the parish church is inextricably linked to the noble Freyberg family. Unfortunately, very little is known about the church's history. A church was first mentioned in Zell in 1460. Numerous expansions and renovations over the past centuries have allowed the church to shine in its present splendor. The church's namesake, due to his bravery and fear of God, became a role model for knights, soldiers, and castle lords very early on. The Lords of Freyberg therefore chose the church's patron saint in Zell. The ceiling painting in the church's sanctuary commemorates the martyrdom of St. Maurice and his companions. The saint's ascension to heaven was immortalized in the oil painting on the main altar. In 2001, the church underwent a major renovation. The adjacent cemetery has also been brought up to date in recent years with the renovation of the cemetery walls and a generous expansion in 2017/2018.

Great view

It is particularly worthwhile to visit the cattle drive from the Schloßbergalm. This usually takes place in September, and the exact date will be announced in the daily press.

There are plenty of places to stop for a break, and you can take a rest here. An idyllically situated lake with the mountains as a backdrop offers a beautiful view. It's worth seeing.
