A narrow spiral staircase with 128 steps leads to the tower keeper's room, which is 30 m high. From the gallery you have a wonderful view of the wine town of Retz. Total height of the tower: 57 m.

The Znojmo Gate, also known colloquially as the Fire Tower, is still the northern entrance to the city today. It dates back to the 13th century and was given its current form in the post-Hussite period after 1425. The water for the spring, the water extraction point for the citizens, was channeled around 2 km away. The Znojmo Gate was extensively restored in 2012. The clearly visible toll window indicates the toll revenues - along with the wine trading privileges, these were the basis of the city's former wealth.

The Zellerndorfer Kellergasse is a wonderful destination for connoisseurs, culture lovers and wine lovers. It is one of the most beautiful and original cellar lanes in the Weinviertel and offers an attractive combination of tradition, nature and regional enjoyment. With a length of over a kilometer, it is one of the longest cellar lanes in the Weinviertel. It is characterized by old, partly listed press houses and wine cellars. Many of them date from the 18th and 19th centuries. It has retained its original charm and is a prime example of the typical wine culture in the Weinviertel.
