かつて街道強盗を罰するために建てられた絞首台があった場所を示す標識。

ギベット・ヒルはサリーで2番目に高い地点であり、デビルズ・パンチボウル（Devil’s Punch Bowl）の景観の中で際立つ、特別な眺望を提供しています。歴史的なケルト十字の隣に立つと、起伏のある丘、深い谷、そして広大なヒースランドの息をのむようなパノラマ景観が広がります。澄み切った寒い日には、景色が劇的に開け、北東に何マイルも離れたロンドン中心部の象徴的なスカイラインまで地平線をたどることができます。

1910年頃、造船技師のピリー子爵によって建てられた「四つの風の神殿」は、壮大な石造りの狩猟用ロッジであり、展望台でした。深刻な老朽化の後、安全でない構造物は1966年に解体されました。今日、ヒルトヒルには復元された石の台座だけが残っており、壮大で広大な景色を眺めることができます。

The hill is home to a lovely variety of heathland and woodland, and there are some lovey views on offer of the surrounding countryside from the top. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife whilst you're here, including butterflies and birds of prey.
