Quiet route that is easy to drive.

The Pilsterquelle / Sauerbrunnen is a mineral-rich spring. The composition is explained on the information board. The legend of the White Woman is also described there. To get to the source you have to climb down a few steps in the pavilion-like building.

For general reassurance... the only mysterious being at the time I was there was yours truly, so nothing wild. The water... tried it... Tastes different... but good

Looks more like a bus stop.. you are not allowed to open here with many people

From here you can already see on Friday who is coming to visit on Monday...😏... it's amazing that such ideas are still being implemented from time to time... but an engineer did not plan this thing... he would have mentioned all 135 steps that were built here and not typed 122 on the board that describes the tower...☝️😊

A wonderful stage destination on every hike... optically very appealing.. geologically interesting to see this volcanic vent

Small shelter just in case and otherwise a good place to rest

Here and further along the path, numerous historical boundary stones with the coats of arms of the Landgraviate of Hesse and the Bishopric of Fulda are reminiscent of the former territories. At first glance, that sounds like an inner-Hesse border (by today's standards). But with the dissolution of the Bishopric of Fulda and the new boundaries drawn during the Napoleonic era and finally the Congress of Vienna (1815), the south of Fulda finally fell to Bavaria. This is why the Hessian-Bavarian border follows this line of the border today.
