While the Church of England parish church of Saint James the Apostle is known to have existed by 1074 (a Norman carved doorway in the nave dates from this period), much of the building, including the bell tower, is Decorated Gothic from the first half of the 14th century. While the cows to the east are really interesting to look at, the one on the west are curious and if you are patient you can pet them.

Ramsden is a classically picturesque Oxfordshire village, in keeping with the surrounding Cotswolds AONB. The ancient Roman Akeman Street runs through the village and it is also on the Wychwood Way long-distance trail. The Royal Oak, a 17th-century inn, has lodgings and excellent food, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also find guesthouses and holiday cottages in the village.
