The Old Windmill in Stanbridge is a striking, unmissable landmark for cyclists and walkers. This Grade II listed, early 19th-century red brick tower mill has had its cap, sails, and gear removed as it's been converted into a private home. It offers a great photo opportunity, but please view this unique, historic residence respectfully from the road or public footpaths only.

As you turn off Dagnall Road, get into a low gear and take it easy. You don't want to be going into the red before the twisty steep bit, as it feels really narrow and if you put your foot down it might be hard to get going again.

Of these 15 enlisted to serve and all of them returned. There were few places in England where all the men returned safely. These places became known as “Thankful Villages”.
