The chapel originally stood next to a farm in Ravenna that burned down in 2007 and was then transplanted here. A local initiative funded the complex project. A truly inspiring place.

The chapel is correctly called “Maria im Moos”.

Only this memorial stone exists at this spot. A tragic story.

The small park in front of the church is very beautiful, with several benches to relax in. The (almost) 1:1 scale sculpture of the colorful donkey is a real eye-catcher, and not just of interest to children.

"South Swede" is right, the summit itself isn't worth it. Better are the bench at the "View to Breitnau" and the subsequent views on the path down into the valley (feel free to turn around every now and then to enjoy the view on the way uphill).

As in probably every other profession, there were occasionally so-called “black sheep” among the many honorable millers in the milling trade. The popular children's book author Otfried Preußler tells the following short episode in “The Flight into Egypt”: “And they didn't even get all the way to Klostergrätz that evening, but there was a mill on their way, the monastery mill - they stayed there until the next morning. At first the monastery miller was almost shocked when the k.k. Gendarmerie knocks on his door: There had been a certain dispute with a customer last week about a few sacks of milling material, which had disappeared in a completely inexplicable way in the mill here […] but it could have been that he had been reported for it anyway – and now they’re coming to pick him up… then of course all the disputed milling sacks had immediately fallen from his mind, the monastery miller, just as [sergeant] Hawlitschek is now simply asking him for a place to stay for the night.”
