A smooth asphalted road between Rafz and Lottstetten with low vehicular traffic. From Rafz the road ascends slowly on an average 2.5% grade. Both Rafz and Lottstetten offer cyclists a nice break in one of the several outdoor restaurants or beer gardens.

Like all the other villages along this Swiss National Cycling Route. Rafz goes more than the extra step necessary to keep cyclists hydrated with having more than 7 beautiful well decorated fountains. The village is out of a picture book with all of its well-kept halb-timbered houses and its many small restaurants.

It's beautiful to drive here. We had little traffic; it's a beautiful valley.

100% Absolutely top route, very nice to drive

I prefer using this route when crossing over between Germany and Switzerland as there is no traffic on this part. Once on the Swiss side of the dam, one must cross through 130 meters of gravel but is doable with a road bike.

I love this beautiful little serpentine climb to Bechterböhl. The pavement is very smooth asphalt but there is always traffic on this stretch of road.
