At 564 metres (1,850 ft), Okement Hill is one of the higher points you can easily access on Northern Dartmoor. The MOD trails around this area allow good access to some of the higher rocky tors. Enjoy the amazing views northwest towards Yes Tor, southeast towards Hangingstone Hill and in all other directions across the moor.

A beautiful section of route 27 Granite Way where the trail opens up as you pass across the Meldon Viaduct. Views across show the undulating hills of the highest area within Dartmoor National park where High Willhays and Yes Tor are situated.

Princetown is a village located within Dartmoor National Park in Devon, England. It is the principal settlement of the civil parish of Dartmoor Forest. The village has its origins in 1785, when Sir Thomas Tyrwhitt, then secretary to the Prince of Wales, leased a large area of moorland from the Duchy of Cornwall estate, hoping to convert it into good farmland. He also proposed that a prison be built on Dartmoor to house the thousands of captives of the Napoleonic Wars and the later War of 1812. The site was given by the Prince of Wales, who held the lands of the Duchy of Cornwall to which the whole moor belonged. This is why the settlement is named Princetown. Princetown is the site of Dartmoor Prison, which was built in 1806 and is still in use today. Princetown is also home to the National Park Visitor Centre, which offers exhibitions and displays about Dartmoor’s history, wildlife and culture.

Two Bridges is an isolated location in the heart of Dartmoor National Park in Devon, England. It is situated around 2.5 km (1.6 mi) north east of Princetown on the old turnpike road which was built across Dartmoor in the late 18th century.

Postbridge is a great place to start or finish a run. There are loads of interesting routes to explore from here and you can pick up maps from the Dartmoor National Park Visitors Centre in the village. Postbridge Village Stores has a cafe and the usual items you'd expect to find in a local shop for pre or post run sustenance.

Fantastic cosy pub in the heart of Belstone serving food and drinks from the bar as well as the outside shed in the summer months. The most wonderful views over the moorland from the outside picnic benches.

This is a great spot to stop and rest weary legs by the River Dart and even take a bite to eat from the nearby hotel. Here you can see fantastic views of Dartmoor National Park.

Created by King Alfred the Great, Lydford has a rich history. It was once the second biggest town in Devon during the reign of Edward the Confessor, now it has a population of less than 500. Lydford Castle was built in 1132 on the site of a pre existing castle built just after the Norman Conquest. Postbridge is a hamlet in Dartmoor National Park famous for its clapper bridge, which spans the banks of the East Dart River. It's thought to date back to medieval times, yet still stands strong.

Great spot for supplies if you’re near by. Pasties and pies, general foods, ice cream and beer. Really friendly service.
