Its thick earth-covered walls were designed to contain accidental explosions and protect nearby troops. Today the building stands as a quiet historical remnant of the city’s fortifications, surrounded by green embankments and woodland paths.

A former Cold War-era air-defence bunker built in the early 1950s — once the command centre for Copenhagen’s air defence — now transformed into a museum where you can wander through underground corridors and explore interactive installations about wartime history.
