From the city exit, the DornbirnerAch meanders through green meadows in numerous meanders, forming a protected biotope in the Birken – Schwarzes Zeug nature reserve.

The small paths to the left and right of the Dirnbirner Ache invite you to take a run. Along the Ache in Dornbirn, there are drinking water fountains where you can refresh yourself.

You drive next to the railway line and have an incredibly beautiful view of the many mountains.

Schwarzach-Buch-Bildstein-Schwarzach Bregenz

The Fussenauer Kanal serves to relieve the Dornbirner Ach and is formed from the confluence of the Fischbach and the Karlesgraben. After heavy rainfall, the canal carries a lot of water.

Beautiful basilica high above the Rhine Valley

This imposing pilgrimage church, which was built between 1663 and 1670 according to the plans of the Bregenz architect Michael Kuen, towers 650 meters above the Rhine Valley south of Bregenz. In 1838 the 2 towers were added. In the conches of the nave, the 14 Stations of the Cross are depicted in the form of small Baroque altars. An extraordinarily beautiful tour can be started from here. The parking spaces above the school and the church are free of charge.
