The state-of-the-art facility, equipped with a 400m running track and all standard athletics equipment and facilities, serves as a training and competition venue for the two Lustenau athletics clubs, TS Lustenau and TS Jahn Lustenau, and also provides valuable impetus for grassroots sports. Old Rhine Recreation Area, Rheinauen, 6845 Hohenems AT The Old Rhine winds its way along the Swiss border to Lake Constance. The natural landscape along the Old Rhine promises a wonderful recreational program for everyone. The sections between Hohenems and Lustenau are particularly popular for swimming. Evening strolls or bike rides along the Rhine are also possible. There are also barbecue areas where you can spend some time. The wildlife is also worth a look: the numerous bird species and beautiful butterflies invite you to marvel at them. In addition to freely accessible natural areas that are popular for swimming, there is also a public swimming pool on the Old Rhine. The Rheinauen recreation center offers many amenities for guests. Nice little trail with water on the left and right. Best to ride in the evening or in winter/autumn. In summer there are lots of bathers.

One of the arms of the old Rhine that fell victim to straightening is renaturing at least a little.

A small bench next to a striking cross in the Swiss Ried. Perfect for a relaxing break.

This beautiful natural border stretches as far as Lustenau bei Rohr.
