One could be mistaken for thinking you’ve entered into the world of Harry Potter. With numerous shops selling crystals, incense, spiritualistic and a cult books.

Expansive stretch of sandy beach (at low tide) with views to the fort.

You’ll find this shortly after finding the start if the path. I came from Taunton Station and the whole area around the area is undergoing redevelopment so be prepared for some fairly confusing detours to get to the path itself

The Museum cafe is well worth a visit for the cheese scone alone.

Taunton Independent Market, an unexpected find.

Wonderful section of the NCN along Brean Beach. The sand is firm and if the wind is kind it's a real experience. Big skies, golden sand and chips at Burnham. There is an alternative NCN section in land if you don't fancy it.

There is a tearoom / eatery called the Lock Inn on the left hand bank. Access over the bridge.

Taunton is a wonderful place to begin or end a run. You could relax and grab a coffee or bite to eat in one of the many great cafés and restaurants, or you could explore the beautiful River Tone or Hestercombe Gardens.

Very challenging climb from Chedder but for those less able it's best approached from Wells or Wookey hole

Standing in the centre of Priddy village green, this thatched stack of hurdles holds an important place in the history of the village. Local saying has it that if the hurdles did not remain in place from one sheep fair until the next, the lord of the manor could refuse the villagers' right to hold the annual fair, an event that has taken place since 1348.
