Take your sunglasses off before riding into the tunnel, you'll go blind quickly in there.

Easy to navigate gates on the cycle path

Low light through the tunnel to protect the bats, but good surface and easy to see. Turn your lights on if you have them.

Drop down the hill a short way from the church, to the National Trust entrance - tea rooms, loo, lovely walk and they even have bike locks to lend.

Stop just before climbing through Abbeyford woods on the Atlantic coast route.

The bridge provides lovely views along the valley.

Take a torch if you are walking, or on your handlebars if you are riding - just to be safe!

A beautiful section of route 27 Granite Way where the trail opens up as you pass across the Meldon Viaduct. Views across show the undulating hills of the highest area within Dartmoor National park where High Willhays and Yes Tor are situated.

Excellent pizza and undercover, outdoor seating at the Castle Inn! No issues taking our bikes into the garden.

Nice and accessible railway path

Gem Bridge is closed for repairs until 4th June - no access for cyclists or pedestrians. There are small steps you can go down which locals said would allow you to cross but we're not from here so we weren't sure as there were no diversion signs at all. If cycling around the closure time ask locals about diversion before you get to the bridge just incase!

I think part of this ride at the moment is not open because of repairs along the route

A lovely traffic free trail with very good surface going g from Plymouth to Tavistock, so lucky to have this on my doorstep

The beautiful area that is Tavistock, if you arrived on foot or two wheels there are several lovely cafes to set you up to continue you discovery of Devon
