Brandy Bottom Colliery, located just off the Bath-Bristol cycle path, was an important coal mining site in the 19th century, particularly known for its deep mine workings. Queen's Square is a Georgian square near Bristol's city centre. Between the 1930s and 1991 a main road went through the middle, but a successful Lottery bid for funding allowed it to be restored to it's 1817 layout. In the centre of the square is an equestrian statue of William III by John Michael Rysbrack, cast in 1733 and erected in 1736.

Beautiful stretch of quiet road between Chipping Sodbury and the hamlet of Horton. There is a lovely open stretch of road there with no hedges, so you can get an open countryside feel. Overall, it is a great scenic ride to Horton on a pretty quiet road.

This area was designated as a tree lined square and a place to play bowls in 1622. It was laid out on an old area of marshland previously used as a dump and firing range. The first houses were built on the southern side of the square between 1699 & 1700, and it was named Queen Square in 1702 after Queen Anne. The statue of William III was erected in 1736. Today it's a lovely place to walk or take a break. The square is sometimes used as a venue for a big screen and communal party for events like the Olympics or world cups.

Staple Hill tunnel is a disused railway tunnel that was originally part of the Midland Railway's Mangotsfield and Bath Branch Line, which connected Bristol and Bath. The tunnel runs for approximately 1.1 miles (1.8 km) through the hillside, and was opened in 1869. It is now an iconic part of the Bristol-Bath railway cycling path. The cycle path takes up less than half the width of the tunnel and the rest of the floor consists of uneven rocks. The tunnel is lit all year-round, but cyclists are advised to turn their lights on. The roof leaks in places, giving the appearance of rain.
