On the first Sunday of the month in the Village Hall, there's plenty of cakes and hot drinks. In the morning it's set aside for cyclists, with racks for bikes.

Super little cafe and a favourite with cyclists, a must stop if riding through Berkeley 👍

This bridge is located along the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal and connects the Purton area to the wider canal system. It is a swing bridge with a control room operated by a keeper to manage its movements. The Purton site also features a historic boat graveyard, where old ship hulls were used to reinforce the canal embankment,

Berkeley Castle is located very closely to Dr. Jenner's Museum and St. Mary the Virgin Church in Berkeley. Very lovely place to visit with an adult ticket at the cost of £16 per person.

Lovely escape route out of Bristol

No idea if this is where Nick Park (creator and director of the Wallace and Gromit films) lives. The Shaun the Sheep sculptures where originally created and installed around London then around Bristol during the summer of 2015. Their were 120 of them. They got auctioned off for charity at the end of the tour.

Nice bike friendly cafe with a good selection of drinks, cakes, breakfast and lunch. Open daily from 9:00 - 16:00.

The Anchor Inn serves drinks, snacks and traditional pub food. Open 11:30 - 22:00.

The Pilot Inn at Hardwicke offers traditional pub food with a nice view. Open Mon to Thurs 12:00 - 22:00, Fri and Sat 12:00 - 23:00 and Sun 12:00 - 21:00. Food served Mon to Fri 12:00 - 14:30 and 17:00 - 20:30, Sat 12:00 - 21:00 and Sun 12:00 - 19:30.

A great lane which cross common land with superb open views

Lovely quite lanes, hardly any cars, very flat, idyllic cycling

Part of Hawkesbury Common, possibly called Lower Woods, lots of lovely dappled light through the trees, and reasonable road surface. If you're heading east enjoy it before you hit the climb to the Somerset monument!

Cracking little coffee shop. Amazing coffee and cakes......what more do you want.

Country lanes with minimal traffic

Perfect little place to refuel, volunteer run community shop and cafe. Not barista coffee if that's your style, but perfect in every other way... cake, tea, benches, plenty of space for bikes, other snacks for the road, friendly people :-)

My favourite place to cycle. I love the lanes round here. Not a lot of traffic round here and a good blast.

A fantastic, gently undulating lane, that is pretty, fairly quiet and possible to get some speed along in both directions.
