Nice wide pathways for a large section of this routes.

Iford Bridge is a historic bridge that crosses the River Stour, connecting Christchurch and Bournemouth. It is a Grade II listed building by English Heritage. Easternmost section: Dates back to the late 18th or early 19th century and is constructed of red brick with stone coping. Middle section: Built in the mid-17th century, it is made of ashlar stone and features four round-headed arches. This section is particularly old, with some sources indicating it dates back to 1184. Westernmost section: Also from the late 18th century, it complements the middle section's architectural style.

Brilliant cut through of the main road

Great traffic free route for the whole family. Bit muddy at times

allways nice to cycle on this part of the trail, in winter can get quit muddy in places;

Hard compact track but can get muddy. Benches along the track, ideal for a stop with views of the river.

Fees to enter apply at certain times of the year

This section is a no cycle zone, I've never seen it enforced, guess i've just been lucky riding this section. I do dismount when getting close to the coastguard building at the top.

Lovely quieter area of the seafront. If cycling through and fancy a break. Drop down to the front and visit Sobo Beach. refuel on great food and take in the atmosphere before heading off. I highly recommend this .

Slipping and sliding on the sand can be fun, be make sure you clean your bike of all that salt and sand asap.

lots of little off sections to discover along this section. some can be ridden and some walked. If you have the time, go off track!

Lovely views towards the mudeford beach huts and mudeford harbour.

Great little pathway along hengistbury head. Even though permitted, a lot of people tut or shake heads at us on bikes here. ignore them. cycling is fine

Open 9am til 5pm. Serving breakfast and lunches. Coffees teas, milkshakes cold drinks, cakes, pastries and ice creams.

Throop Mill is a sizeable building and four storeys high. It is a traditional water mill being fed by a mill stream tapped off the main River Stour. There is a single chamber through which the water flowed. The original turbine is now sat rusting away in the middle of the lawn immediately in front of the mill. Now being converted in to self contained apartments

Very bust during the summer season. a few restaurants and surf shops, toilets and showers, also free to use electric bbqs.

Nice start section for a ride along to sandbanks and back. Start at Sobo and have espresso and a bite to eat.

Old Iford bridge is grade 2 listed by English Heritage. The middle section of the bridge spanning the River Stour dates back to 1184. Officially half the bridge is in Bournemouth and the other half is in Christchurch. Better to get there early as the spot is popular for people feeding the ducks and families having picnics as well as people having impromptu sandwich breaks.

Very quiet and secluded area to do a spot of wild swimming.
