Built between 1910 and 1912, this former railway line used to transport labourers and kit up to the Red Lake China Clay Works, as well as returning waste products that were put to use as fertiliser. Today, only the track bed is left, providing a long, winding, and fairly gentle way to get up onto the moor from Bittaford, near Ivybridge. The track is a firm local favourite with mountain bikers and gravel riders alike, and also very popular with hikers and the herds of Belted Galloway cattle that roam Ugborough and Harford Moors. Although gentle in gradient, it's pretty rough in parts, so wider tyres are recommended.

The amphitheater in Saltram Park offers a beautiful panorama of the surrounding nature, such as the River Plym, the estuary and the forests. You can enjoy this view from the seats of the amphitheater or from a higher point in the park

A beautiful little cove, with great rock pools when the tide it out! Although there is great surf in the area, beware that there is a lot of rocks covering the cove which can be seen when the tide is out.

Beautiful sunsets here, can't recommend enough & the local bars & restaurants all good especially the pizza shack.

Hope is a charming village with two beaches including Hope Cove. Excellent for swimming, enjoy the clear water and relaxed atmosphere before checking out the cafes and ice cream outlets. The cove gets busy in summer but there's usually a spot you can call your own.

Radford Park is a beautiful green space on the edge of Plymstock with a rich history. A grand Elizabethan property stood in the park originally, Radford House, owned by the Harris family for over 500 years. Hosting parties attended by figures such as Sir Walter Raleigh and Sir Francis Drake, this was quite the place to be seen. Demolished in the late 1930s after falling into disrepair, only the grounds remain. The park is free to walk around and offers many interesting sights and viewpoints including over Hooe Lake. The 19th-century castle is a particularly pretty sight and marks the end of the West Devon Way.

Real dream of a gravel route with amazing views of the moors and the sea to the south. Apart from the big climb up from Bittaford, the actual gravel route is pretty flat. But the road is a dead end.
