Spicers Trail is a blue graded bike trail to the east of the main hub at Haldon. It's a well-made gravel trail, designed to be a bit more technical than the easy Discovery Trail but still easy to ride and suitable for hybrids and touring bikes. Some sections are narrow and twisty but never steep.

Nice and very cycle friendly cafe at Haldon Forest. Plenty of outside bike storage, picnic benches etc as well as indoor seating. Good simple menu for food, snacks, and drinks. Perfectly positioned to ride from here on the surfaced trails of Haldon or to include it as a stop in a longer loop. Open every day.

Denbury Cistern is a historic water conduit head that stands in the centre of Denbury village. It was built in 1771 and supplied water to four street taps in the village. The water was piped from Denbury Hill, an Iron Age hill fort nearby. The cistern has a pyramidal roof with a finial that bears the date of its construction. It also carries the war memorials for the village. The cistern may have originally been the village lock-up, converted to use as a water cistern later. In 2001, the cistern was restored and interpreted with a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Denbury Manor is an historic manor house situated on the edge of the village of Denbury in Devon, England. It was long owned by the Reynell family of East Ogwell, who also held the adjoining manor of West Ogwell. The Reynell estates passed by marriage to the Taylor family in the 18th century. The manor house is a 17th-century building with a Georgian front and has a gatehouse and boundary wall built by Walter Septimus Curtis circa 1912-14. The house and its associated buildings are listed as Grade II on the National Heritage List for England. Denbury Manor has an Edwardian garden on a site that was known to be inhabited in the 11th century. The garden features two summerhouses and gate piers. Near the village is Denbury Hill, an Iron Age hill fort that attests to the long history of human habitation in the area.

A good stop next to the National Cycle Route 28.

I’ve met a number of walkers and horse riders along this route. Best taken easy to enjoy the view and encourage harmony between trail users.

Went in on a cycle tour at the end of a long day - no pasta on the menu, no pump to check tyre pressures, no oil can to lube the chain, no help refilling water bottles. It's a bike themed cafe with high prices, but that's all.

Road bridge over River Avon. C17 or C18 packhorse bridge with hump back and widened on upstream side. Stone rubble. single round arch. Large stone slabs forming string with parapets above with large granite coping stones. Running parallel to the road, a leafy diversion off-tarmac for a while. No gates, easy access for all.

Beautiful sand and shingle beach with colourful beach huts and turquoise sea. Peaceful curved setting framed by the low cliff edge at Corbyn Head.

The climb from Chudleigh up to Haldon Forest, a real brute but thankfully beautiful! It's known as Old Exeter Road, presumably the historic route over Haldon from Chudleigh before the A38 was built. Pace yourself as it takes a while, but once past the estate gates and around the corner the last section is gorgeous through the trees, and you may see some of the melanistic (dark-coloured) Haldon deer.

Cosy Tea garden in the beautiful village of Teigngrace, snuggled between the Stover Canal and the Teigngrace Railway. Access is via the Stoverway path - no car parking so you need to walk or cycle. Some indoor seating and lots of outdoor seating which is the best way to enjoy the delights of cakes, savouries, tea and coffee
