Cafe provides excellent food at reasonable prices. Plenty of outside seats and bike racks. Only 1 toilet so expect to que. Well worth a stop on your ride.

NIce respite stop at the top of the hill

Whissendine Windmill is one of England’s few remaining fully operational nineteenth-century windmills. It has over the village of Whissendine for more than 200 years.

The Grainstore Brewery Tap opened in September 1995 and today is recognised as one of the best brew pubs in Britain. The combination of superb beers, brewed on the premises, and a traditional pub setting has proven to be a winner, earning the accolade of The Good Pub Guide ‘Own Brew Pub of the Year’ in 2003, 2011, 2014, 2016 and 2019.

Note: The nice little independent Cafe Allez has now been replaced by the castle run coffee shop so they could cut out the people who built it up from nothing. Up to you if you want to give them your business.

Use this at least once a week. One of the few level crossings in these parts where you aren't obliged to wait minutes before a train passes. The tarmac either side is lovely and smooth; at least until they 'improve' it with chippings.

Steep but short. Dig in and will soon be over!

Good climb out of the village towards Sproxton

Nice steady climb through the trees up towards Belvoir Castle.

Bike parking, plenty of space, its surprising who you bump into when your sat refueling! Cakes and sausage sandwiches are great ( They do other things that look good but I'm a simple man) and I always enjoy the coffee.

They provide lots of bike parking and can even supply locks should you forget yours. The food and drink is awesome too (their bacon rolls rock).

Very good bike shop, can supply unique hand built bikes and routine servicing. Jack and Jimmy know their stuff!

A specialist bike shop that stocks some of the best bikes that money can by, including Enigma and Bianchi.

Freshly laid tarmac and the chances of pinch punctures has reduced 👍
