Brilliant cafe in High Easter - great place for a cafe stop on a ride through Essex. Well worth checking out

Blackmore village is a place to visit they have a great Tea room Homemade cakes made on the premises just across the road there is a little church rumour have it Henry the eighth went there

Proper tea (loose) with our big breakfast.

Unfortunately, now closed on Sundays.

Fantastic cafe stop in the pretty village of Blackmore. They've got a great menu and loads of outside space, a real favourite of local and London cyclists.

Outdoor tables and bike stands. Friendly, easy going cafe with delicious coffee and cake

Unfussy little local cafe with a nice garden area with picnic tables as well as indoor seating.

A lovely country lane with a slight climb east to west. Lovely scenery around and barely any traffic.

Great food and welcoming to cyclists, they now have bike racks outside

A great spot to stop. Plenty of space, with decent coffee and bacon sandwich. Been happy the three visit I've made so far.

Great tea room recommended for cyclists

Great road with lovely views. What to expect: from Abridge Road leading out of Theydon Bois, this is a great cut through following Coopersale Lane, past Theydon Garnon onto Hobbs Cross Road. Slight downhill (west to east), quiet country lane and generally decent condition. Lovely views across the countryside!

Lovely place to stop. Really good variety of sandwiches and panninis. Caters very well for cyclists.

Has outdoor space, a popular stop for cyclists. Good menu selection from cakes to fry ups. Recommend when out Pleshey and High Easter way.

nice rolling hills and dips

St Andrew's is said to be the oldest wooden church in the world. However, there is some debate about its exact age. According to Historic England, parts of the church have been dated to 845 AD. However, according to the church’s own history, excavations in the 60s revealed two earlier timber structures dating from the 6th and 7th centuries. The Church was re-roofed during the reign of Henry VII and restored between 1837-48. Whatever the true history, this Grade I-listed church is utterly unique and a fantastic place to visit.

Parts of St Andrews church in Greensted are the oldest wooden standing in the world and date to 1060 AD. There is also a grave of a 12th-century crusader located just outside the church entrance which is thought to be a bowman.
