Nice little kicker. Mind the relatively busy road and blind crest though!

This is one of England's tallest remaining maypoles. It is a striped pole that stands over 20 metres high. It has been present since the days of Shakespeare, and its original incarnation was made of wood (until it was struck by lightning and destroyed). The current pole is made of aluminium and is officially a Grade II historical monument listed by English Heritage.

Small hill with nice views of Cotswolds/Welford. The road surface is pretty bad in Welford direction but gets significantly better as approaches Long Marston.

Historic Warwickshire town. Many places to stop for food and drink, or just a look around.

Beautiful and well preserved half-timbered building, you will not find many in similar style and quality around. Even if you do not enter the museum it is worth a detour to have a view.

The Hall was built in the reign of Charles I and throughout its chequered history has seen calamitous events including being extensively damaged from a gunpowder explosion in 1643. Just over a century later the Hall was actually pulled down but re-built the following year. In 1863 major alterations resulted in a Hall very much as you see it today. Ill fate dogged it again in 1946 when fire, started from a cigarette, completely gutted the beautifully proportioned Ballroom, when a valuable painting by Gainsborough of David Garrick was destroyed. The Town Hall houses many interesting and historic paintings and treasures and it is unsurprising that today smoking is definitely not permitted. Stylish war memorial, opposite the Green Dragon pub. Quiet and pleasant road up from Coughton

Very nice. Often stop here as it’s on my 30 miler round trip. Wonderful granola/flapjack full of cranberry, pumpkin seed etc. plus everything you expect in a good farm shop.

A prime tourist spot lots of people taking wedding photos outside

Good for leisure cycling. Traffic free connection between Meon Vale and Stratford. From here plenty of routes into the Northern Cotswolds open up. Not so suitable for sports cyclists, due to the track surface and the mixed use.

Great selection of hot and cold food & drinks to eat outside or takeaway. Open daily 9am-5pm.

A small restored 16th century half timbered house on Henley Street where it is believed that William Shakespeare was born in 1564. There is a small museum is open daily from 10:00 - 17:00.
