In the case of a "market cross," such as the one we encounter once again in the center of Chichester, one would have to ask the fundamental question of whether it is actually primarily a small sacred monument—as its cross shape suggests—or whether it is more of a secular object. A good cycle path that connects the center of Chichester with the area north of it. You avoid motorized traffic and the surface is comfortable.
