Ditchling Beacon is a classic South Downs climb, rising from the village of Ditchling with an average gradient of 9% and ramps hitting 16%. The smooth, well-maintained road winds through the countryside, offering you stunning views along the way. Cresting the summit rewards you with panoramic views and a well-earned descent towards Brighton.

At over 650 feet (200 m), Ditchling Beacon gives you a good climb and a great vantage point to see out over the surrounding countryside. To the north you look back at the lush countryside of the Weald, to the south are views of Brighton, and to the east and west, the rolling undulating views out over the South Downs.

This is a lovely spot, and not far from Devils Dyke. There are stunning views to be had out over the South Downs from here.
