The Marchfeld Canal Cycle Path is a well-developed and popular cycling route in eastern Vienna and the adjacent Lower Austria. The Marchfeld Canal is an artificial waterway constructed in the 1980s and 1990s. Its primary purpose is to irrigate the intensively farmed Marchfeld region, replenish groundwater, and provide flood protection. In addition, the canal improves the local climate and creates valuable habitats for plants and animals.

The Steinsporn Bridge in Vienna connects the Upper Lobau with the Danube Island across the New Danube and is an important part of Vienna's cycle path network. Cyclists can comfortably cross the bridge while enjoying the beautiful views of the New Danube and the surrounding nature. The bridge is part of the European long-distance cycle route E4 and the Eastern Austrian Border Trail, providing a practical and scenic connection for cyclists between the Lobau and the Danube Island.
